Welcome to the official website of the Greater Hartford Combined Federal Campaign or CFC! The Greater Hartford CFC was established in 1968 and includes more than 6,000 Federal employees – postal, civilian and military – stationed in Hartford, Tolland and Windham Counties in northeastern Connecticut.

Whats New in 2007?
We are excited to serve the Federal workforce in Greater Hartford Area, and thank you for your continued support. The 2009 CFC officially kicked off on October 2 with representatives from more than 40 Federal agencies and nearly 10 local charities in attendance. While the economy has taken its toll on certain sectors of the local Federal workforce, we are asking everyone to step up and say “I Can” help by supporting the CFC. Last year Federal employees contributed $318,000 to the CFC – we know We Can try to equal that again this year.

We are thankful for your generosity and commitment to helping those in need and know that your gifts come from the heart. We all know someone who has a need, and with your support, we can help a child, feed the hungry, respond to a disaster, or find a cure. Now, more than ever, We Can make a difference locally, nationally and internationally.

Our CFC Loaned Executive (LE) of thirteen years, Ed Santos, has officially retired from his CFC duties and is making the most of his retirement. A good portion of our successes can be attributed to Ed’s efforts to support the campaign year after year. Thanks Ed – we wish you the best!

Ed’s commitment to the CFC was demonstrated recently by his efforts to orient our new LE – James Brislin. Welcome James – the LFCC looks forward to working with you.

As the needs of charities increase, their financial resources are being strained as never before. Indicators tell us the outlook for charitable donations around the country is not promising. This means that the charities supported by the CFC are counting on us more than ever before. As a donor, you can help by increasing your gift if possible, but you can also help by talking with your co-workers about the charities you support. Encourage your friends to give for the first time or to increase their giving. With your help we can make 2009 a year that bucks the trends and reflects our generous spirit.

Thank you for your participation and support!

This is your CFC and we want you to be able to contribute to your charities of choice. If you know of a charity interested in participating in the 2010 Greater Hartford Combined Federal Campaign, please send an so we can send you the 2010 Charity Application to them once it is available from OPM.

In 1961, President John F. Kennedy established one annual fundraising campaign for Federal employees. The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

As the world's largest and most successful annual workplace giving campaign, each year, more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally help to raise millions of dollars. Each fall, pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. The Director of the Office of Personnel Management has designated to the Office of CFC Operations (OCFCO) responsibility for day to day management of the CFC.

This site has been reviewed and approved by the Greater Hartford Local Federal Coordinating Committee for the 2008 CFC campaign.
