In 1961, President John F. Kennedy established one annual fundraising campaign for Federal employees. The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

As the world's largest and most successful annual workplace giving campaign, each year, more than 300 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally help to raise millions of dollars. Each fall, pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. The Director of the Office of Personnel Management has designated to the Office of CFC Operations (OCFCO) responsibility for day to day management of the CFC.

The Greater Hartford CFC was established in 1968. This CFC region includes all Federal facilities - postal, civilian and military - located in Hartford, Windham, and Tolland Counties in northeastern Connecticut. The Greater Hartford CFC serves nearly 6,500 Federal employees.

This site has been reviewed and approved by the Greater Hartford Local Federal Coordinating Committee for the 2008 CFC campaign.
